Thanksgiving at the Farm
This year we celebrated Thanksgiving at the farm. It was short but filled with a lot of good quality time with the whole family. In recent years Thanksgiving has started to move up the list on favorite holidays as I love the simplicity of just focusing on having a great meal with those you love... there is no mass gift shopping or hiding behind a costume or overly-marketed expectations. It is just good food and a moment to relax. Unless you are the one hosting of course, then it may feel a little different. I just love the time to sit back and visit with family.
On Thanksgiving morning we woke up to a frost. While most of you have had many of these, we had yet to see one in the city so I had to run out with my camera to try to catch a few shots. Granted, I first had to have a cup of coffee so it had started to melt by the time I got my rear out the door...
On Friday, the day we celebrated Thanksgiving with our family (we went to my Grandma's on Thursday), Dan and Matt headed out to play Farmer For a Day with Ray and Dad. They had a good time and it got them out of the house so they weren't just sitting in front of the tv.
Then we stuffed ourselves with all the traditional foods. Because I tend to be helping with getting the food ready for the table and then the dishes, I didn't sneak any pictures... I am going to have to remember to project manage that task for Dan next time. So, now onto Christmas preparations!
