Just my luck
Speeding Ahead
I think that Day 4 where we went on the bicycle tour through Dry Creek Valley was possibly my favorite day of the trip. It was so cool to ride down the little country roads past the vineyards and to stop in for tastings. We did the Healdsburg Sip N Cycle done by Getaway Adventures and I really recommend it to anyone going to Sonoma County. I had a blast.
Dinner at Rivers End
We ended the day with a romantic dinner at the River's End Restaurant. The food was quite tasty and the sunset was really pretty.
This was of course after we found our cabin through a maze of cliff climbing one car roads. After we took a couple of wrong turns the directions started to make a bit more sense... oh and we kept our cool the whole time. We were practicing working on our worldly traveler non-chalant attitudes.
Dan and his sweet ride on Hwy 1
The drive up highway 1 was really a lot of fun. But then again I can say that now as I am safely at home. Dan took a squirrel powered POS and pushed it to its limits. Of course he was driving safely but I did not have a handle to grab. The views were not to be missed and I am glad we took the time to do this longer drive up to Sonoma County.
Angel Island
Next on the day 3's itinerary was to take a ferry from Tiburon to Angel Island. That was really fun. We hiked around Angel Island and found it to have some nice views. The ferry was fun too. Finding our way to Tiburon was not quite easy as my directions were accurate but we really had a hard time with the not so visible street signs in California. And the streets just change names back and forth periodically as we soon discovered!
Can't Take the Fresh Air- Need Smog
So I am back to finish updating you all on our trip... We woke up bright and early on Day 3 to head out of San Francisco and over to Marin County. The first order of business (after day 2 of breakfast at Cafe Mason- and yes we both ordered the exact same thing as the day before) was to find Muir Woods.
Muir Woods- although full of all the other tourist- was a really cool place. The fresh air and amazing redwoods were not be missed. Dan took about 10 pictures of a deer that was munching away... it became a common theme for him to take pictures of the wildlife on our trip. Truly a city kid! We have pictures of deer, catepillars, sea gulls, lizards, bugs, scorpions, seals, and pelicans.
