Trip Planning!!!

In August, we will be road tripping out to the San Francisco area of California. We decided to drive cause it would be easier to deal with than flying with all of our luggage and the dogs. Not to mention this would give us a chance to go camping, something we have wanted to do for a while. A week ago, we purchased a 2 person backpacking tent and sleeping bag from REI.com. The tent is nice and light which would give us the ability to take it backpacking when we get really into this. Anyway, planning the trip there and back isn't the easiest of tasks. I've found that most "campgrounds" in the US are catered to the RVer. Since this isn't true camping, I don't see why they call these RV parking lots campgrounds!! I mean you drive in a hotel of sorts. You have running water, television, even a freaking real bed with a mattress. That isn't camping! Camping is pitching a tent, cooking your meal on a fire and sleeping on a tiny mattress that still allows rocks to poke you in the back. So in my quest to get away from these RVing Retards, I found a few camping spots that are inexcessable unless you have a 4x4. These in my opinion are the real deal. I've spent a lot of time working out different routes that give us the true campgrounds we want to stay at. When we get back I'll post where we are staying with pictures, until then....
