Offices are just big playgrounds

It is kind of amusing that there are more than a few similarities between a playground and an office. I have been in several vastly different work environments and there is always one thing they have in common- their similarity to a grade school playground. There are the cool kids, the geeks, the jocks, the battle for king of the playground, the politics, the suck ups... and instead of the yellow school bus I take the train. The games might have matured a little but the basics are the same! I guess that the nice thing about being a grown up in the working world is that we have a choice- if you don't like the playground- you can look for a different one, one that has the "just right" fit. As a kid in grade school you don't have that luxury, you are pretty much stuck with where your parents take you!
